Project Diálogo helps students in Mexico (14 years and older) improve their English fluency through weekly one-hour sessions via Zoom. Volunteers lead one-on-one conversations with students in Mexico to create a comfortable environment for them to practice speaking English.
Our goal is to help students improve their future career potential by improving their English-speaking skills. Please join us! You don't need to know Spanish to join this project. Sessions are held on Sundays from 5:00 to 5:45 PM PST.
Project Soile
Project Soile is a speaking club program dedicated to students (ages 14 and up) from Kazakhstan to advance their English by practicing real-life conversations. Soile means "speak" in Kazakh, which we believe is key to becoming fluent in English! Take a part in fostering a safe environment where students can gain confidence in their language skills while also building friendships. Make an impact by simply conversing about everyday topics! Sessions are held weekly on Sundays from 9:00 - 10:00 AM CST (7 -8 AM PST) on Zoom.
Project 1234! Home Reading Helper
This program hopes to help parents have the tools to teach their students how to recognize letters and words and eventually read. We specifically target the Oakland, CA, area, as many young kids attend school at an academic disadvantage because they cannot read, and some have not been effectively exposed to the alphabet by their parents. This program has no specific hours. Volunteers help offline at convenient times.
Project Udaan
Project Udaan is a project striving to help underserved young girls in India.
The word “Udaan” ( oo - ron) means “fly” in Hindi. In this project, we want to cultivate a passion for learning and help girls fly and reach their potential and dreams. We firmly believe everyone has a right to an education, and we are determined to overcome obstacles to help these girls fly. This project takes place at 9:00 - 10:00 PM PST on Saturdays weekly on Zoom. We really appreciate your help!
Project Diversidad/EYFO
We are seeking volunteers for Project Diversidad, which occurs on Wednesdays at 4:15 - 5:00 PM PST. In our Zoom tutoring sessions, we teach under-resourced children in Seattle and students from Oakland.
